On this portal, I will show you, the official portal where you can register the WAEC Online Registration for WASSCE for Private Candidates (2023).

See More: Waec GCE Syllabus Nov/Dec.

ALL candidates should take note that the online registration for WASSCE for Private Candidates, for the 2023/2024 academic session, will commence from 12 midnight of June to August 2023. Please all candidates that have purchased PIN but were not able to upload their entries before the closing of the WAEC GCE registration, should make use of this opportunity.

All candidates should take note, that the failure to use the already purchased PIN within 48 hours after the registration closing date, will attract the payment of the walk-in differential fee. Please take note, that purchasing new PIN is allowed during the registration period. Anyone who wants to buy a new Waec GCE registration PIN will have to pay the Walk-in fee of N25,500.

Walk in Waec GCE Registration.

The very first step to take for the GCE waec registration is logging into the institution’s official portal. All interested candidates are required to commence their Registration by enrolling their fingerprints and capturing other personal details using the Biometric Data Capture software.

For registration centres, you can download the Biometric data capture software by Clicking here. Please take note that this software will work on your device, ONLY if you have a fingerprint scanner. However, for candidates who want to register, please visit the nearest Waec GCE Registration Centre with such facilities to scan your fingerprints.

DO make sure that your Surname, First name, and other names are captured using the software, this is essential, to ensure that your details are successfully registered with the National WAEC board.

This is another essential part of registration. To ensure that your GCE registration is successful, you are required to enter your correct bio-data, including the following details;

  • Gender,
  • Disability,
  • Marital Status,
  • Maiden Name (if applicable),
  • Date of Birth,
  • Nationality,
  • State of Origin.

Please take note that your name must not be more than 40 characters, this includes spaces between the names. There MUST be space between your surname, first name and another name. Please select NONE for disability information if you are not disabled. Don’t fill in any disability when you don’t have any.

We all know this is one of the most important parts of successful registration. Please, all candidates are required to upload your scanned passport-size photograph with a white background. I bold the word, white background because other photos with any other colour of the background will be rejected by the institution.

All candidates who are registering for the exam should take note, that the photograph must be a recent one and must be in Joint Portable Exchange (jpg) format. Be informed that the photograph you upload will be printed on your photocard and certificate, this will ensure you have your original WAEC GCE Result. The dimension of the passport must be exactly 275 X 314 pixels. The photograph must not be more than 15 kilobytes and not less than 7 kilobytes in size.

Another important aspect of the registration is filling in your contact information. Your contact information which is required of you includes the following;

  • Telephone,
  • Email,
  • Residential address,
  • Residential city,
  • Residential state,
  • Postal address,
  • City,
  • State.

Be aware that the Telephone number is compulsory since it would be used to contact the candidate should the need arise for any questions and you’ll be able to receive important information from GCE WAEC officials.

This is one of the best parts of the registration. All WAEC GCE aspiring registrants should ensure to commence their registration early, so they will be able to select the state and town they wish to write the examination.

However, the board makes it impossible for students to choose the exact centre in the town/state of their selection. The board of directors will automatically be assigned to you a centre by the system. Please note that you cannot change your examination town after submission.

All aspirants of this examination, are already aware that both these subjects are compulsory, and they are;

  • English Language,
  • Mathematics

Do note that these subjects are automatically selected for you because they are compulsory. You are required to select the other subjects you wish to register for in the examination. Please note that a minimum of Seven (7) and a maximum of Nine (9) subjects are allowed (English Language and Mathematics compulsory as stated above).

The declaration is your agreement signature to the rules and conduct of the Waec GCE examination. Here, you will be required to read the declaration section carefully and check or tick the checkboxes before submitting your application/registration form. You cannot proceed unless you have done this. You have to agree to their terms and condition, or you shouldn’t/won’t be allowed to register.

This preview gives you a glimpse of what your application form will look like, once you submit the form. It is of utmost importance that reviews your application at this stage and clicks the EDIT button if you desire to make any modification.

Please note that you should click the SAVE button if you want to save your application and still be able to come back and modify it. However, you are given the option to modify your waec gce registration form 3 times.

If you are sure the details are correct and okay, then proceed and click the SUBMIT button to submit your application. NOTE that you will no longer be able to modify your application once you click the SUBMIT button.

Once you have successfully completed the application form and submitted the registration form, the system will allocate a centre to you and generate your examination number for you.

It is of utmost importance that you print out the admission notice/photo card. Note that this document will be required before you are allowed into the examination hall.
